Two ways to measure at home
The String Method
- Cut a thin strip of paper (or take a piece of string), about 100 mm long and 3 mm wide.
- Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you'll wear the ring on.
- Mark where the paper overlaps with a pen.
- Lay it flat and measure the marked length in millimetres.
- That measurement = your circumference. Find the matching row in the chart above.
💡 Measure in the evening — fingers can be slightly larger then. Choose between two sizes? Go up.
The Existing Ring Method
- Find a ring you already own that fits the intended finger well.
- Place it on a flat surface.
- Using a ruler, measure the inside diameter in millimetres — edge to edge across the open centre.
- Match this number to the "Inside Diameter" column in the chart above.
💡 Wide-band rings fit slightly tighter than thin bands — if your reference ring is thin, consider sizing down by ½.
A few professional tips
- Finger sizes change throughout the day. Measure when warm (after a meal, not first thing in the morning).
- Dominant hand fingers are usually ½ size larger than the same finger on your non-dominant hand.
- Knuckle vs. base size: if your knuckle is larger than the base, size for the knuckle.
